Okay, so we are kicking of this months favourites with a make up item; Mac Woodwinked Eyeshadow. This for me is my most used eyeshadow of all time, and have repurchased it three or four times to date. I personally think buying the same eyeshadow that many times is pretty good going, especially having never hit pan on lots of other Mac colours. The reason this colour is my most used, is because it’s great for an all over the eye look, requiring little blending and no other colour is needed through the crease. I use this eyeshadow most days for work; I simply apply it with a large fluffy brush all over the eye, finishing off the look with my signature winged eyeliner.
For years now I have been professionally getting my brows dyed, problem is the dye fades quickly and usually before I really want to return for my next threading… in entering Colorsport 30 Day Brow Tint, it is fantastic for in between salon visits.
I am a huge fan of setting sprays, so when home in July I discovered NYX sold a Matte Make Up Setting Spray … I was very intrigued! Urban Decay and Make Up Forever are the usual brands I hit up when buying setting sprays, however when I saw this one (for a third of the price) I had to give it a try. Now, I will admit it doesn’t quite have the longevity of the other two brands, but it does work and I would definitely buy this product again… so that’s a thumbs up from me!
Marks and Spencer Strawberry and Raspberry Tea, not much can be said about this other than I am a fan! So as I’ve brought two this month already, I thought I would include this as my food and drink item for August.
My Girl Sunglasses from Quay. Quay are currently extremely popular and I cannot lie, I’m amongst their huge fan base. They are reasonably priced, and have an array of trend led shapes, which basically means they’ll have a style to suit any face shape. These have been the only sunglasses that I’ve worn during August.
This one is an unusual one, as I never really have a ‘mascara favourite’ as I usually change up my mascara on a regular basis. However, this month I tried the FairyDrops Mascara after hearing lots of good things about it, and I have to say I am a fan! It was the only mascara I reached for during August; it adds length and volume without looking clumpy. The only issue with this mascara, is that it’s not readily available everywhere. Here in Hong Kong it is very easy to find, however elsewhere I believe it is harder to come by.
This choice needed little-to-no deliberation. Throughout August, I often found myself deliberating over which shoes would compliment my outfit the most. This month, there has been one pair which I’ve reached for above all others; Topshop Karter Loafers. So I was adamant these HAD to make an appearance this month. They have been my everyday ‘throw-on’ shoe. They’re simple, classic and black, so they go well with most outfit choices. I have worn them with jeans, culottes and even dresses, they’re just so versatile. The best thing about these shoes though, is they feel like I’m wearing slippers, how will I ever wear uncomfortable shoes again?
Hopefully you have enjoyed reading about my favourites from the month of August. As always, happy shopping ladies.
Really lovely post!
