Trend Trials: Statement Transitional Jacket

Apologies for once again being away for so long, unfortunately even with my best intentions life commitments seem to constantly get in my way. A while back I started this ‘Trend Trials’ series, now the sales are gone and we are well and truly in a new fashion season, it’s about time I picked it back up.

Transitional pieces are something you hear a lot about around this time of year. They are pieces that carry nicely from autumn into winter; jackets, ankle boots and light knit jumpers are some examples that spring to mind.  For this post I chose a bargain I found in Zara just last week! Okay, so I live in Hong Kong so technically the seasons don’t work the same for me and I most certainly don’t need a jacket in the current 35 degree heat, but I couldn’t leave this bargain behind.

A statement colour has been a real trend for the past couple of seasons, and I can understand anybody’s reservation with this yellow colour in particular. I am definitely not somebody who looks like they suit yellow, however paired with a white piece underneath I think I can wear certain yellow tones. If you are somebody who doesn’t necessarily suit yellow, I believe it’s important to get a white top that lays higher on the neckline than the jacket.

Okay, so as with all my trend trials I have to conclude with whether I think the trend spoke about is one worth adopting or avoiding. The statement transitional jacket for me is one worth adopting! That is if you have disposable income that grants you the luxury to have an extra piece in your collection that you are not going to wear everyday. That being said, if you can get your hands on a bargain piece like this Zara beauty, it’s definitely worth having as a fun extra jacket to see you through to winter.

I hope this post has encouraged somebody out there to risk adding a little statement number to their wardrobe. Until next time ladies … happy shopping.
