Okay, I can’t lie, I am very lucky when it comes to Travel destinations, this year alone I have been to some beauties. But Fiji really has been something else! If you are an avid reader of Metal & Charm, you will have seen earlier this year I went to the Maldives, after being there I was resolute that nowhere could impress me to that level again in life, never mind in the same year! Fiji has exceeded my expectations in every way, for me it has been the perfect vacation.
A HUGE part of why I have loved Fiji, has been the resort, we stayed in the Fiji Marriot Resort Momi. I could not recommend this resort enough. Since living in Asia I have been privileged enough to have travelled to lots of different places and have stayed in lots of different hotels and resorts, but this one has to be very high up on my list! I have completely fallen in love with the countries’ landscapes, the resort itself, and most importantly the Fijian people.
Fiji is filled with bright floral shirts, flowers in hair and huge smiles! The people we have met whilst there have been the friendliest people I have ever come across! “Bula” meaning ‘Hello’ is spoken by every person you pass, you really get a great sense of warmth and love for life. I believe when on holiday hospitality is a huge part of making your experience enjoyable, and the staff at the Fiji Marriot Resort go above and beyond to ensure you enjoy your stay.
We spent seven nights in the resort in a Duplex Lagoon Front Bure and it was perfect. It meant you not only had the option of enjoying one of the resorts’ three pools (one being an adults only infinity pool), you also had the lagoon to swim in right outside your patio!
Whilst in Fiji we could not miss the opportunity to visit Cloud 9. For those who have not heard of this little beauty, it’s a little floating paradise in the middle of the South Pacific. You travel there via boat, and the hotel arranged our transport to the port. Cloud 9 is truly amazing! It is a two level floating platform with a bar and a wood-fired pizzeria. You can snorkel and sunbathe, and the views are amazing! If you are travelling toFiji it most certainly is worth a visit!
Overall I could not recommend Fiji enough, admittedly it is pretty far away from the majority of places, but I found it truly worth the ten hour flight!
